Cumbrian goalkeeper Dean Henderson has been named in the latest England squad.

The Whitehaven star is included in Lee Carsley's final squad as interim head coach.

Crystal Palace No1 Henderson is among the 26 players selected to face Greece and the Republic of Ireland in the UEFA Nations League.

It offers the west Cumbrian another chance to impress before Thomas Tuchel's Three Lions reign begins in January.

Henderson won his second England cap and made his first start in the previous international break, helping Carsley's side to a 3-1 win against Finland on October 13.

That came four years after his first England outing as a substitute against the Republic of Ireland.

The former Carlisle United academy keeper has been included in all Carsley's senior England squads since the Under-21 boss stepped up in temporary charge following Gareth Southgate's departure.

His selection, alongside fellow keepers Jordan Pickford and Aaron Ramsdale, confirms the 27-year-old's status as one of the leading goalkeepers in the country.

He is firmly established as Palace's first-choice gloveman, playing in all ten of the Eagles' Premier League games so far this season and keeping three clean sheets in all competitions.

England take on Greece at the Olympic Stadium in Athens on Thursday, November 14, before hosting Ireland on Sunday, November 17 at Wembley.

Meanwhile, Henderson's fellow Cumbrian Jarrad Branthwaite must continue to wait for his next Three Lions call-up.

Everton's ex-Carlisle defender, from Wigton, has made just three Premier League appearances in 2024/25 after an injury-affected start to the campaign.

Branthwaite will now be hoping to reclaim a regular place in the Toffees defence and further his international hopes, having made his England senior debut against Bosnia & Herzegovina in the summer.

Carsley has handed first senior call-ups to Southampton's Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall, while John Stones is among those to miss out with injury.
