A PRODUCTION of Handel's 'Messiah' will be performed at Carlisle Cathedral by Wild Arts.
The group had a sell-out tour in 2023, and they will be bringing their 'fresh' and 'innovative' approach to Handel's telling of the Christmas story.
This will be the first time that the production has been performed at Carlisle Cathedral.
The show will take place on Wednesday, December 11.
In a post on social media, Carlisle Cathedral wrote: "The period specialist players of the Wild Arts Ensemble join the star singers of the summer opera tour for an innovative version that will bring the music and story to life.
"Staging will be performed by the company tailored to each venue from a framework devised by theatre and opera director Tom Morris (Breaking the Waves, Dr Semmelweis, War Horse), with Wild Arts' Artistic Director Orlando Jopling directing from the keyboard."
Members of the public can arrive at 6.30pm with the show set to begin at 7pm.
Ticket prices vary depending on which area of the cathedral you are seated with prices ranging from £20 to £50, under 25s go for £15.
They can be purchased through the Carlisle Cathedral website.
