A POPULAR Cumbrian band is set to perform their annual Carlisle gig this December.

Hardwicke Circus will be performing their Christmas gig at The Brickyard on December 20.

The annual concert gives local fans a chance to see the Carlisle band in action in their hometown.

Tom Foster, the drummer of Hardwicke Circus, said: "The gig will be at The Brickyard on December 20, and it's great as it's our only chance to get all of the Carlisle fans together.

"It's at the end of our UK tour, we're doing 18 shows in December across the country and The Brickyard is always the last show that we do.

"It's a good way to end the year, 2024 has been really exciting, we've recorded an album and we're about to go to South Africa next week to do a tour.

"It's a great way to celebrate the end of the year with friends and fans alike.

"Performing anywhere is great, we want to resonate with anyone it doesn't matter where they're from or if we know them or not.

"When we first started to perform at The Brickyard, we always knew the people that were there.

"But it's interesting because the people who are coming in recent years we don't actually know, so even in Carlisle there seems to be a growing crowd. It's always nice to perform in Carlisle because it's our hometown.

"I always used to go to see the groups that I liked at The Brickyard, so to perform there is always a treat.

"Next year it's much of the same, we'll be performing a lot of gigs, and we have a new album coming out that we're all very excited about.

"That's what we do, it's just an attempt to grow, get the music out there, and write more songs and then we'll be back at The Brickyard in 2025.

"I'd also like to mention our gig at The Source in Carlisle on November 14, which is a warm-up show for our South Africa tour."
