AN 11-year-old will soon see her creative designs come to life on the pitch after being selected to create new kits for a Carlisle football team.

Cara's design was picked from 90 entries, earning her a kit of her own following a competition at the community Show and Tell event in Bitts Park earlier this year.

Her younger sister, Freya, also impressed, securing third place.

Drew Rothwell, director of Border City Greens, said: “It’s nice to see stuff from a kid's point of view.

“It was amazing to have 80/90 designs submitted.

"Judging was really difficult but it was great to have the two sisters make the final three.

"They must have been colouring for about an hour designing the kits, they really put time and effort into it on the day.

"The lads are looking forward to wearing it," he said.

Speaking on the Show and Tell event, Drew said: "It’s been great for us as a club to link up with the community like this.

"It’s nice to be part of Carlisle, and that’s exactly what the Show and Tell event was all about".

He thanked Raw Insurance and sleeve sponsor, the podcast 100 Things We’ve Learned from Film, for their support in bringing the kits to life.
