The historic Gilsland Spa Hotel and Villa will be sold at auction on Thursday with a guide price of £650,000.
The 93-bedroom hotel sits on 10 acres of land with extensive gardens and woodland on the property.
It has been listed by Town and Country Property Auctions and will be sold on November 14 at public auction.
Part of the property dates back to the 18th century and was used during the First World War as a convalescent home and again in the Second World War as a maternity hospital.
The description on the listing says: "Gilsland and historic countryside is on the border of Northumberland and Cumbria, close to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hadrian's Wall.
"Located just three miles from the A69, connecting Carlisle and Newcastle, the house enjoys rural tranquillity while being within easy reach of the region's major business centres and transport links by rail and air from Newcastle international airport, all accessible in under an hour.
"The area features the hidden gem 'Crammel Linn' waterfall, situated within Irthing Gorge, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, home to a variety of native flora and fauna. Other local attractions include the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park and Kielder Water and Forest, which draw astronomers, walkers, cyclists, and water sports enthusiasts from around the country and further afield."
Gilsland Spa was previously listed for sale in 2019 for £1.5 million after then owner Northern Powerhouse Developments filed for administration.

It then closed in 2021 for renovations with a view for it to re-open in spring 2022 as a luxury five star country house hotel.
The then-owners plans for the hotel included offering an array of unique guest experiences, amenities, food and beverage offerings, wedding and event spaces, an in-house screening room, and luxury spa facilities.
Plans were submitted to Carlisle City Council - now Cumberland Council - in early 2023 to demolish the existing single storey bar and build a porte-cochere that was in-line with the classical appearance of the site.
The design and access statement included in this planning application said that it would create "a more streamlined visitor entrance to the hotel."
Although the application was given approval, Gilsland Spa has remained closed since 2021.
