COUNCILLORS are due to get an update on work aimed at attracting more inward investment to Cumbria next week.
Members of Cumberland Council’s place overview and scrutiny committee are due to meet at The Copeland Centre in Whitehaven on Wednesday (November 20).
It is the area of responsibility of councillor Mark Fryer (St Johns and Great Clifton, Labour), who holds the council leader’s portfolio, and members will consider a report – Inward Investment and Enterprising Cumbria – which gives an overview of the council’s approach to securing inward investment including work with Enterprising Cumbria.
They are asked to note the approach to securing inward investment and provide comment and feedback on how the committee can support the strategy against the council’s wider agenda of inclusive growth and community wealth building.
In addition, they’re asked to note the approach the role of Enterprising Cumbria in supporting inward investment into Cumberland.
