A Carlisle-based party planning business has said that it is 'very proud ' after celebrating its tenth anniversary.
Stardust Parties, which is located on Carlisle's Ashley Street, is the brainchild of Sophie Murray who started her local party planning business in October 2014.
A decade on, In October 2024, Sophie and Stardust Parties celebrated 10 years of putting on parties, discos, and events for people of all ages.
Stardust Parties is also a family business that sees Sophie assisted by one of her daughters and after celebrating Stardust's tenth birthday, she was on hand to express her delight at reaching the milestone and discuss what made her get into the party business in 2014.
She said: "These ten years seem to have gone so fast and we have grown a lot. I am very proud of where we are now.
"I did not expect the business to take off as well as it has, it's incredible.
"People and their kids know who I am sometimes when I walk into a cafe for example and I think that shows how well the business has done.
"It means the world to me that I have built this from nothing and I'm leaving a legacy for my children.
"At the son's fifth birthday party, we hired an entertainer and they were 45 minutes late and I just thought that I could do this myself and I have been ever since.
Sophie, who is a single mother to five children is a firm believer that 'every child deserves a party' and over her ten years in business has worked hard to keep her prices low so that any family can have a celebration.
Stardust has also been buoyed during its decade in Carlisle by 'amazing' support from the local community, with Sophie keen to thank all of those who have helped her make her business dream possible.
She said: "The support has been absolutely fantastic and the local community has been amazing.
"Most of my business comes from word of mouth or people seeing me at parties and without them, we would not have been able to be where we are now.
"I also really believe that every child deserves a party and that is why I have kept my prices low even when people had told me that I should charge more."
