A MAN was stretchered off a Lake District fell, after slipping and injuring his knee whilst out walking.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team were called out to the casualty at 2:04 pm yesterday, November 14- with eight team members carrying out the rescue.
In a statement on social media, Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team said: "The team were called out to a casualty that had slipped and injured their knee whilst walking on the path between Helvellyn and Raise.
"7 team members climbed the fell to the casualty’s location. The casualty was assessed and the leg was splinted before they were put into the stretcher to be taken down to the Team landrovers.
"After a further assessment at Base by a team doctor, the casualty was driven by other members of their party to hospital for further treatment.
"The rescue took 3.5 hours and involved a total of 8 team members."
