A new pub and hotel in Penrith has said that it is 'so excited' ahead of its public launch night.
The Agricultural Inn will officially be opened to the public on Thursday, November 2, with the former hotel on Penrith's Castlegate which ceased trading in June set to be brought back to life by MTM Venues.
MTM Venus is made up of business partners Megan McCall and Thomas McLaughlin who will be operating the new pub and hotel as part of an agreement with Valiant Pub Company who have put forward the funds for The Argicultural's refurbishment.
The new pub and hotel will host a soft launch on Wednesday, November 20 that will be attended by local councillors and Penrith mayor Doug Lawson before opening to the public the following day.
Ahead of the Agricultural Inn's launch, Megan was on hand to express her excitement.
She said: "We are so excited, every time we have come up to Penrith the pub has looked different and now it is basically all finished and it looks absolutely stunning.
"It is really cosy but light at the same time, it's not claustrophobic and I think it has got a really good balance between warm and welcoming without feeling dark and dingy.
"We have also extended out into a beer garden so in the summer especially it will be incredible."
For Megan, The Agricultural will be committed to its local customers and has taken steps to underline its commitment to Penrith, with this including only hiring staff from the local area.
The pub and hotel will also make and effort to engage with its local regulars and Megan is looking forward to this 'banter over the bar.'
She said: "We are going to be dog-friendly and family-friendly and we are going with a traditional pub menu.
"We have got the hotel as well which will have a lot of passing traders but we are hoping that we can make it a pub for the locals with the tourists who come being an added bonus.
"We don't want to focus on tourism too much and isolate the locals, we want it to be the place where the locals want to come and get together.
"We want it to have that warm and welcoming atmosphere where we can get to know the local customers who come in on a regular basis, have that banter over the bar and we want them to feel looked after."
