A WEST Cumbrian performance group has performed at Disneyland Paris.

Sing Stars, who are based in Whitehaven are a singing group catering from young children to older people.

The group went to Disneyland Paris to perform as part of the site's Halloween celebrations in October.

Beth Clark, of Sing Stars, said: "We went for the full weekend, there was 31 performers and 95 in total including families and supporters.

"On Sunday, October 25, we performed. We met up with the performing arts coordinator in the morning. They took some photographs and videography and then walked us through the village to the Videotropolis Theatre.

"We had a backstage tour and had some time to have a sound check and warm up. After preparing in the dressing rooms, we went on stage and performed our 20-minute Halloween medley of songs to the audience.

"There were people from all over the world watching, and they were all singing along and joining in.

"It was an amazing experience, we had children as young as six and also members of our adult choir reaching the age of 70.

"We had our T-shirts specially designed by Vivvy Lee who is local to Whitehaven.

"It was a fantastic opportunity, the kids were great, they sounded good, looked good, and were professional.

"Outside of the performance, it was nice as all of the families and supporters that came were all staying in the same hotel. So, we had a chance to speak and connect which we wouldn't get to normally.

"Lots of us were chatting over breakfast and then in the evenings we'd get to speak with one another and have a drink.

"The younger ones then got the opportunity to visit Disney Park and go on some of the rides with one another. They've now got a connection with each other as a team which they wouldn't normally get during the rehearsal process.

"The whole thing was a great experience."
