Part of a road near Carlisle will close for up to five days while roadworks are carried out.
Starting on November 18, the U1143 near Gaitsgill, south of Carlisle, will close from its junction with the C1017 to its junction with the U1142 until November 22.

An alternative route is available via the U1143, C1018, C2049, U1139, B5299, U1293 and the C1017.
