CARLISLE'S HSBC, which has been closed since the beginning of October, is set to reopen in the coming weeks.
The branch on English Street will reopen on December 4 following internal upgrades and the installation of new ATMs.
The renovations also include new signage for the Grade II-listed building with plans approved by Cumberland Council planners in August.
According to a heritage statement the Grade II listed building, which was originally a bank, with living accommodation for the manager, was built in 1849.
“We believe the proposed works will respect the building’s original features and will not have a negative impact on the building or the surrounding area," the planning application states.
During the closure, HSBC has provided a temporary "pop-up" branch at Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery, operating Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm.
This temporary service will remain available until November 29.
HSBC has also been encouraging customers to use alternative banking options, including Post Office services and online banking, to manage their accounts during this period.
