A LAKE District mountain rescue team has reported one of their 'busiest' years after attending their 100th callout.
The Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called to help a walker who injured his ankle near Dove Crag on Sunday, November 17.
The man was hiking with friends along a route covering Helvellyn and Fairfield.
Despite trying to continue, he eventually had to stop due to the pain with 10 volunteers out to the man's aid.
The team stabilised his ankle using a splint, and, with assistance, he managed to walk down to the team's Land Rovers.

A spokesperson from Patterdale MRT said: "Last night was the 100th callout for the team in 2024. It’s been one of our busiest years."
