A POPULAR Cumbrian bakery has expanded its business by opening a new café.
Cumbrian Baker has opened the café on Station Street in Cockermouth in what was the former Veeva unit.
Cumbrian Baker was founded in 2020 by owner Sharon Rutland from her garage kitchen.
The popular bakery, which is now based on the Lakeland Business Park in Cockermouth, has become a firm favourite for many Cumbrians with tasty traybakes, sandwiches and cakes being sold from the takeaway attached to the kitchen.
The café is the latest addition to the already thriving business which earlier this year launched a new online store, delivering tasty tray bakes nationwide.
Sharon Rutland said: "We're incredibly excited for this new opportunity and being able to grow our offering.
"We've built on our existing menu and our talented team has created a café menu with a twist.
"We are still working with our tried and tested local producers. We're serving up something a little bit posher but have made sure to keep our best-selling Big Yan breakie on the menu.
"We can't wait to welcome everyone in for our usual cuppa and a craic."
The cafe will be open Tuesday to Saturday from 8.30am-4.30pm for brunches, lunches and cakes, and from 9am-2pm on Sundays for hot brunches.
