CUMBRIA Police have been dealing with a cold calling incident in Penrith.
Officers were contacted by a woman who said she had been visited by suspected cold callers who claimed to be part of a probation scheme.
In a post on social media, Cumbria Police wrote: "Eden PCSOs spoke to a lady in Penrith where males had cold called claiming to be on a probations scheme from Middlesbrough.
"There is no such scheme and those selling goods door to door should have a pedlars certificate.
"Thank you to the members of the public who raised concerns about the behaviour of these males. Eden community officers did stop the males and dealt with them appropriately."
