A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle collision on the A595 at Bigrigg.
Police are investigating the collision, which happened at around 5.35pm yesterday (November 19), outside the Texaco garage.
The collision involved a motorcycle and a Mercedes car, and the rider of the motorcycle, a man in his forties, was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with serious injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes did not sustain serious injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Inspector Stabler or PC Dunne on 101, referring to incident 150 of November 19.
