Two new branches of a care group are set to create up to 200 new jobs across North and West Cumbria according to the company.

Alcedo Care Group is continuing to expand across Cumbria with the opening of two new branches, one on Gray Street in Workington and the other on Parkhouse Road in Carlisle.

The new offices signal a combined investment of nearly £450,000 for the specialist home care provider and will create approximately 200 local jobs.

Both branches open with a management team of five from which they will expand and grow taking on more care clients and nurses and carers as required.

Both Workington and Carlisle will be headed up by their own branch managers who will be supported by experienced Alcedo Care operations manager Victoria Leecy and area manager Katie McKenzie.

Alecedo combine clinical care plus day-to-day personal and social care and are seeking to deliver up to 4,000 hours of care per week to residents across the region looking to remain in their own homes rather than move into hospital or permanent residential care.

Managing director at Alcedo Care Group, Andy Boardman, said: “With demand for high quality homecare continuing to increase, we are pleased to open two new branches and offer our services more widely across Cumbria.

“In addition to domiciliary care, our highly experienced team supports those with even the most complex needs, delivering care for those with advanced physical clinical conditions, mental health care requirements or challenging behavioural conditions in the comfort and familiarity of the family home.

“Our team is completely flexible and can deliver exactly the level of care that is required from daily social care and respite visits to round-the-clock live-in care and 24/7 supervision.

“We are looking forward to further building the client base and becoming a key part of more communities across Cumbria.”
