Pupils at a Carlisle school have donned their wellies in support of farmers up and down the country.
Students and staff at Austin Friars School participated in the 'Wear Your Wellies' initiative, led by fifth-form boys from farming backgrounds.
The initiative coincided with a large protest in London, organised by the National Farmers’ Union (NFU).
Drawing crowds of 13,000, the protest was held alongside a mass lobby of MPs about changes to government inheritance tax law.
This legislation would require farming families to pay tax when transferring assets like farming equipment and vehicles to their children.
Previously, farmers enjoyed 100 per cent relief, but this will now be capped at the first £1 million of combined agricultural and business property.
The change has caused widespread discontent among farmers.
Some pupils, such as 11-year-old Thomas Raven, even arrived at school by tractor to further demonstrate their support.
