AN inquest has opened into the death of a Carlisle electrician due to the possible involvement of cocaine.
Mark Thomas Donlon, was found dead in his home on Ellesmere Way in Carlisle by paramedics on August 19, 2024.
In a brief hearing at Cockermouth Coroner's Court, Assistant Coroner for Cumbria, Ms Margaret Taylor said that the North West Ambulance Service had been alerted by friends of Mr Donlon.
She said that a cause of death had been offered of cardiac failure, myocardial inflammation, and cocaine use.

Ms Taylor said: "Due to the implication of drugs in relation to Mr Donlon's death, this is a potentially unnatural death, and my duty to investigate is triggered."
Ms Taylor adjourned the case until a provisional date of December 19, 2024, when a full inquest would take place.
Mr Donlon was born in Redditch, Worcestershire, and was divorced at the time of his death.
