Four handsome hounds, currently in the care of Eden Animal Rescue, are ready for rehoming.
The animal shelter at Moorlands Head Farm, Temple Sowerby, has been caring for animals since 1995 and pledges to never put a healthy animal to sleep.
These beautiful dogs are ready to find their forever families…
Alfie is a four-year-old Cockerpoo.
He is described as a ‘complex’ character who is bit highly strung and has high anxiety but responds well to positive reinforcement.
Alfie was returned to the shelter for snapping at his owners who had made ‘fantastic’ progress with him.
He needs a calm household with no other pets or children and would love a home with a large garden.
Eden Animal Rescue said: “He is not a dog for a first-time owner. He needs someone that has experience with reading dog body language and acting accordingly.”
Alfie’s favourite pastime is going out and having a ball thrown for him and his biggest fear is getting into a vehicle.
Byron is a six-year-old Basset Hound and Poodle Cross.
He loves playing ball but is possessive over his toys and can sometimes be a ‘bit barky’ around other dogs.
Byron ended up at the shelter due to his owner's change in circumstances.
The shelter said: “Byron will need experienced owners who can come and make several visits to get to know him before taking him home.”

Django is an 11-year-old Collie dog.
He is described as a ‘lovely old lad’ who is very sweet with people and good natured.
Django was handed in due to his owner’s ill health.
Eden Animal Rescue said: “He is quite lively and enjoys his walks, but he won’t need to go for miles and miles as he’s a bit stiff on his back end.”
Django is housetrained and has never been around children; he has also been known to react badly to a couple of male dogs.

Ernie is a six-month-old Whippet and Spaniel Cross.
He is described as a 'sweet little dog' and was handed into the shelter because he was too lively for his owner, who struggled to walk him.
The team at the rescue centre said: “He is very much still a puppy, he’s playful, energetic and full of beans. He’s a happy little chap, he’s made friends with all of our staff and volunteers and will be a lovely companion for someone.”
Ernie needs a family who will be around a lot of the time and can teach him some basic training.
If you think you might be able to offer one of these sweet pups a forever home, contact Eden Animal Rescue. After an appointment, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire.
