A walker was rescued in the Lake District after 'hopping' on his walking poles down Scafell Pike after an ankle injury.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) received a call from Cumbria police about a walker in trouble.
The man had slipped injuring his ankle at Hollow Stones and was unable to bear any weight.
The team was called out around 3:44pm on November 16 when volunteers made their way to the scene.
A Wasdale MRT spokesperson said: "On arrival the walker had continued to make progress downhill by hopping supported by his walking poles.
"However there was still approximately 400m to descend and so it was decided that the best course of action was to stretcher off.
"The ankle was splinted and the routine stretcher carry was made to Brackenclose. The walker’s friends took him to hospital for further assessment.
"We wish the walker well and hope that the injury heals quickly."
The rescue lasted around five hours and ended at 8:45pm.
