DAMAGE caused by Storm Bert has resulted in the temporary closure of Penrith Library.
Westmorland and Furness Libraries announced the closure on Monday, November 25.
It follows after yellow weather warnings were in place over the weekend whilst in some harder-hit areas in east Cumbria, there were amber warnings for snow and ice.
As a result, the library's Baby Bounce and Rhyme sessions on Tuesday ( November 26) have been cancelled, along with the evening chess group.
A spokesperson said the library will reopen 'as soon as it is safe to do so'.
