A NEW grab-and-go sandwich shop is set to open in Carlisle tomorrow (November 27).
Tasties Baguette Bar, on Myddleton Street near the University of Cumbria campus, will breathe new life into the former Cumbria Tasty Bites unit following a full refurbishment.
The cafe, which will be open 7am to 5pm Monday through Sunday, will be offering breakfasts, hot and cold baguettes, homemade steak pies, roast beef dishes, soups, snacks, tray bakes as well as teas and coffees. They will also be offering catering options.
Owner Lesley Clark, who has previously run a takeaway in the city, is looking to 'wind down' from the late nights with a move to the sandwich shop.
"The shop has been totally refurbished," Lesley said.
"We’re buying local produce from Warwick Mill and from Steve Wilson's Butchers. We'll be keeping the prices as low as we can at the minute. Everyone’s struggling at the moment with the cost of living especially with Christmas around the corner.
"We're looking forward to welcoming everybody come Wednesday," she said.
