Free advice and information are set to be given to landlords and letting agents.
This will be provided at a Cumberland Council-hosted networking event.
Property owners and agents will have the chance to meet and discuss the latest changes in housing law and legislation and ask questions to experts.
The event, supported by the National Residential Landlords Association (NRLA), will take place on December 2 from 10.30am until 12.30pm at Allerdale House, Workington.
Representatives from Ad Hoc Property Management & Security, the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), and Cumbria Police will also be present.
This will be an opportunity for landlords to hear from these organisations on important issues and gain the advice and information they need.
Attendees can attend presentations such as the NRLA's update to landlords and agents on legislative changes under the upcoming Renters Rights Bill and the DWP's discussion on the final claimants moving from tax credits to Universal Credit.
The Cumbria Police Organised Crime Unit will provide an overview of how landlords can protect their properties and help tackle organised crime and Ad Hoc will explore what owners can do with empty properties or difficult lets.
Cumberland councillor and portfolio holder for licensing and regulatory services, Bob Kelly said: "Whether you are a new landlord or someone with a large portfolio of properties, this event is for you.
"It’s an opportunity to get the latest news and advice from key organisations from the sector as well as network with fellow property owners.
"At Cumberland Council, we want to help landlords navigate the legal framework for landlords as well as ensure we have a high standard of rental properties available.
"This is why events like this are so useful and I’d encourage local landlords to sign up today to our free event."
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
