Keswick's town centre has been decorated with Christmas lights with the Skiddaw Hotel, Inn on the Square, and King’s Arms, prominent in the display.

The three hotels, part of the Lake District Hotels group, put up Christmas lights each year.

The displays are inspired by Kit Graves, the director of Lake District Hotels, and her Danish heritage.

Ms Graves said: "We’ve always admired the way Christmas is celebrated in Denmark.

"The lights and decorations in Copenhagen are fabulous and hugely inspiring.

"For me, it’s about creating an atmosphere that feels welcoming, magical, and full of cheer—a real sense of hygge that everyone can enjoy."

Dani Hope, director of Lake District Hotels Ltd, said: "It’s a real labour of love for us.

"We’re so proud to see the lights bringing joy to residents and visitors, and helping Keswick shine during the festive season."

The light displays have become a recognisable feature of Keswick during the Christmas season.

Ms Hope added: "We love seeing the joy these lights bring to people as they stop to admire them or take photos.

"It’s our way of giving back to the community we’re so proud to be part of, and it’s wonderful to know they help make Keswick such a special place to spend Christmas."

The hotel group hopes that the lights will remind people to support local businesses during the Christmas season.

From dining and shopping to overnight stays, visits contribute to Keswick’s economy and support its seasonal displays.
