CARLISLE Cathedral will be hosting a special Advent Carol Service this week.
The Cathedral will be hosting its annual Advent Carol Service on Sunday, December 1.
The service is set to take place at 5pm as the festive season begins.
In a post on social media, Carlisle Cathedral wrote: "Please join us for a most powerful beginning to the season of Advent, with traditional readings and hymns by candlelight, under the splendour of our iconic starlit ceiling. All welcome!
"It is free to attend services and booking is not required.
"The Cathedral Cafe and Bar will be open until 5pm for snacks, cakes, wines beers, and hot drinks."
