A MAN was taken to hospital after reportedly falling from a railway bridge today (November 28).
Emergency services were alerted to concerns for the welfare of the man at 2.25pm in Carlisle's Carleton area.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service was also called to assist at 2.30pm, with two doctors and a paramedic on board.
The air ambulance service said they worked alongside the North West Ambulance Service to assess and treat the patient.
The man was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary for treatment by land ambulance.
A spokesperson from Cumbria Police said the man was "located and left in the care of medical professionals".
A spokesperson from the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said: "Following a call from police at 14.26pm.
"We responded to a patient who’d reportedly fallen from a railway bridge. The patient was taken to hospital for further treatment for their injuries."
