In a post on social media, Cumbria Police wrote: "We have had further reports of anti-social behaviour and damage in Whitehaven town centre this evening.
"Over the last few weeks, a number of youths have been causing a nuisance to local businesses and drivers within the area.
"We are in the process of obtaining CCTV images of those responsible and will liaise with the local schools to identify and deal with those responsible.
"Whilst we appreciate that it is difficult to know where your child is at all times, we urge parents to take responsibility and speak to their children about being considerate of others and acceptable behaviour.
