THE organisers of this year's annual Firework Display in Whitehaven are hoping it will be a great event for the town.
Whitehaven Town Council has organised the display which will take place on December 6.
A spokesperson said: "Organisers are also keen to encourage members of the public to bring a torch with them to the fireworks display, not only for safety on the harbour front but also to see if they can get a drone image of the entire width of the harbour in lights.
"It is a sort of interactive art display for a fleeting moment said a spokesperson for the council and we hope to make this happen at 5.10pm with the fireworks themselves going off at 5.15pm.
"Last year's display attracted thousands of people making it one of the biggest events in the town's calendar."
Organisers are also putting out a last-minute call for stall holders, particularly food businesses for the market in St Nicholas Gardens.
Space for a business to put their own 3 by 3m gazebo is free, as are six-foot tables in one of two marquees which will both be illuminated for the occasion.
