A man from Carlisle has successfully climbed the height of Mount Doom, in a Lord of the Rings themed charity challenge.
Andy Weafer, a keen climber, set himself the goal of climbing 4500ft in November at Eden Rock Bouldering Gym, the same height as the fictional Mount Doom in JR Tolkien's classic fantasy series.
Andy wanted to raise money for Andy's Man Club, an organisation which is continuing to offer vital support to men struggling with mental health issues in the region.
And after completing more than 150ft per day in Carlisle, Andy completed his challenge on November 28.
His JustGiving page, has also raised £430 for the mental health charity, which holds a close place in his heart.
