A café in Barrow created by the founders of a former popular Turkish restaurant has been nominated by The Mail readers for the Best Cumbria Coffee Shop 2024 award.

Coffee Time was launched under the expertise of former restaurateurs Ahmet Demir and Ozlem Korkmaz in 2022.

Their restaurant Izgara opened in December 2018 in an effort to bring a warm slice of the Mediterranean to Barrow’s streets and closed just months before Coffee Time's first opening.

"Just about to give up & found this little gem of a café. We were made to feel very welcome, staff were lovely, the food was amazing.

"We ordered mix Turkish omelette, mixed omelette both with salad & cheese & tomatoes toastie, coffee latte and two Turkish coffees.

"The food was well presented and tasted absolutely lovely. Will definitely be back and will recommend to all family, friends and visitors."
