Carlisle's Tourist Information Centre is offering a range of Christmas gifts produced by members of the community.

Located in the historic Old Town Hall, the centre is selling handmade pottery, jewellery, decorations, and locally produced food and drink.

Other items include locally distilled spirits, woolly keepsakes, scented candles, and photo cards of Cumbria.

Each purchase directly supports the makers behind the products.

For those wanting to purchase a unique Christmas gifts, tickets for Carlisle’s ‘Winter City Walking Tour’ are available at £10 per adult.

The tour includes a voucher for a complimentary regular coffee or house tea from Watts coffee shop, and proceeds go to St Cuthberts Church.

The centre is also part of the ‘Cards For Good Causes’ initiative, offering a selection of Christmas cards that support over 100 UK charities.

In the past decade, Cards For Good Causes has raised more than £22.5 million for charities like Alzheimer’s Society, Cancer Research, NSPCC, Shelter, and Carers UK.

They have also contributed over £2.7 million to local churches, libraries, and community projects.

The Tourist Information Centre is located in the Old Town Hall, near the city’s historic quarter, shopping centre and restaurants.

Winter opening hours are currently in operation with the centre open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
