AN inquest has opened into the death of a 45-year old Carlisle man who died at home after taking drugs.
Jonathan David Rogers was found unresponsive at his home address on Cumwhinton Road in Carlisle on October 7, 2024.
Mr Rogers' death was confirmed by paramedics at 8.03pm that day, and he was formally identified to the police by Mr Darren Johnson on October 8.
Area Coroner for Cumbria, Ms Kirsty Gomersal, said that a post-mortem examination had been carried out on Mr Rogers, and the court was offered a cause of death of 'combined drug toxicity, particularly cocaine and heroin'.

Ms Gomersal said that due to Mr Rogers' death not being of natural causes, an inquest would be required.
She formally adjourned the inquest until a provisional conclusion date of April 24, 2025.
Mr Rogers was born in Middlesbrough, and was single at the time of his death.
