A brand new winter ice rink has opened up in the heart of the Lake District.
On Sunday December 1, 'Another Place, The Lake' welcomed skaters to its first-ever ice rink on the shores of Ullswater.
The rink was opened by renowned Olympic figure skaters, David and Stacey King, who took to the ice for a spectacular routine on Monday, December 2.
David and Stacey are eight-time senior British champions who represented Great Britain in the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics and now live in Carlisle.
The rink has been described as the ‘highlight’ of Another Place’s festive celebrations and has given the opportunity for guests, locals and visitors to skate against the backdrop of Ullswater and the surrounding fells.
Beyond the rink, a 16ft Nordmann Christmas tree, lights and decorations, weekend Christmas market stalls, mulled drinks and winter cocktails, festive menus and the outdoor Fellside sauna all help to create a ‘Christmassy’ environment.

Bookings for the rink have been very busy but there are still mid-week skate sessions available for non- resident guests.
The ice rink is open every day up until to January 4, except for Christmas Day.
Tickets begin from £13 for adults and £10 for children.
