OUR readers reacted to the news that the owner of a popular Carlisle cafeteria has officially stepped back after 11 years with the business.
Christine Stalker purchased Stalker's Food 4 Thought in December 2012, just a few months after remarkably winning £500,000 on the former ITV gameshow Red or Black.
It was always Christine's dream to own a food establishment and she felt it was 'fate' that the premises were listed for sale in The Cumberland News just a few days after she won half a million.
Readers wished Christine the best of luck for the future.
Tracy Mallinson said: "What a lovely write-up! More time to party now."
Gemma Hodgson said: "Good luck for the future Christine Yeomans Stalker, it's been a pleasure," while Kath Patrick and Christine Greer wished her luck for the future.
Ann Johnston congratulated Christine and Jenni Barrowclough also wished her good luck.
Christine Yeomans Stalker also commented: "Thank you everyone lovely write-up from the News and Star."
Jodie Fay Warwick and Steph Counter also shared their best wishes for the future.
Rebecca Miffy Hockey Moorat added: "Well done Christine Yeomans Stalker super proud of you."
Despite almost single-handedly dragging the business through the challenges that the coronavirus pandemic and the cost of living crisis threw at her, Christine managed to keep the business running successfully.
