WE shared the news that the highly anticipated opening of Carlisle's NACHO NACHO is imminent, with a sneak peek revealing how the new site is shaping up.

The new Mexican food unit on 21 West Tower Street, which will be offering sit-in, takeaway and deliveries, is preparing to open at the end of August following a complete renovation of the site.

Carlisle-born and bred sisters, Gill and Laura Hutton, first took their idea for the business to the road after buying a street food truck before the pandemic.

Here's what readers thought.

Dean Lightfoot said: "The Carlisle food scene is definitely missing a proper Mexican restaurant, there hasn’t been one since Pancho’s and I’m actually amazed that someone didn’t do it sooner, look forward to dining there."

Janet Seggie wished Gill good luck, and Simon Farquhar said: "Loved the NACHO NACHO van, will definitely try this out."

Izabela Sulkowska and Gillian Moore congratulated the owners on their business opening.

Ben Hickman added: "Huge congratulations Gill Hutton, can’t wait to visit."
