We shared the news that CTD Tiles, one of the UK’s biggest tile suppliers, has shut 56 of its stores after falling into administration.
The Carlisle store on Viaduct Estate Road is one of the affected stores.
The CTD webpage for the Carlisle store said there was "over 70 years of combined tile industry experience" at the Viaduct Estate branch.
Administrators of the business said that 268 workers were made redundant nationally after the collapse.
Readers shared their thoughts on the closure.
Lynsey Parke said: "A brilliant local business Cumbria Tile Centre open for business that’s worth a look if you’re looking for an alternative."
Darran Walker said: "It's a shame for the staff."
Kevin McGeorge added: "Sad news, a great supplier of tiles and products, used there myself, hope the staff can find employment elsewhere."
