The number of people diagnosed with coronavirus in the UK as of 7am on Friday has risen to 163 from 115 at 9am on Thursday, it has been confirmed.
The Department of Health issued a fresh statement on Friday afternoon.

What is the latest in Scotland?
Five new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Scotland, taking the total to 11.
The new Covid-19 cases are in two in Fife, and one each in Grampian, Forth Valley and Lothian health board areas, the Scottish Government said in an update.
It is the largest increase in a day since the first case in Scotland was confirmed in Tayside on Sunday evening.
