Britney Spears has taken to Instagram to thank the ‘Free Britney’ movement for its “constant resilience” in campaigning for her freedom from her conservatorship.
This comes as her father, Jamie Spears, was officially removed as her conservator last week.
Jamie Spears confirmed he would step down as her conservator in August, however he had not given a timeframe for this.
According to Buzzfeed News, Judge Brenda Penny granted the singer's request to immediately suspend Jamie Spears as conservator of her estate.
The judge appointed John Zabel, a certified public accountant chosen by Britney Spears, to oversee her finances on a temporary basis.
Since the news Britney has been posting on social media whilst on holiday in French Polynesia. On October 1st she posted a video of a beautiful beach captioned, “A beautiful day here in paradise celebrating!”
Last night she thanked the ‘Free Britney’ movement for helping her be freed from her conservatorship.
She wrote on Instagram: “#FreeBritney movement … I have no words … because of you guys and your constant resilience in freeing me from my conservatorship … my life is now in that direction !!!!! I cried last night for two hours cause my fans are the best and I know it … I feel your hearts and you feel mine … that much I know is true !!!!!”
The comments were full of fans and celebrities showing their support. Her fiancé, Sam Ashgari commented: “From a scale of 0-Britney how free are you?”
Other comments included Miley Cyrus writing: “You look soooooooo good”
Various documentaries have been created to highlight her situation. ‘Free Britney’ aired earlier this year, and ‘Controlling Britney Spears’ aired on Sky on Monday night.
Netflix have also released their documentary entitled ‘Britney vs Spears’.
