Readers have been sharing their thoughts on the prospect of returning to the dancefloor as night clubs get set to reopen again.
It was confirmed last week that the so called “freedom day” would be going ahead on July 19.
Club owners and DJs in north Cumbria are looking forward to the moment with cautious optimism and councillors believe it will give a much needed boost to the night time economy.
Carlisle City Council’s Portfolio Holder for Culture, Heritage and Leisure said: “It’s great to see the opportunity for some of these businesses to reopen now.
“We hope that the people running them and the people using them will take care of themselves and others, which they still need to do.
“It’s great to have the possibility of the city centre coming back to life.”
Readers were asked if they were looking forward to nightclubs reopening.
Here’s what you had to say.
Gary Parkes said: “I’m excited for the youngsters on what they have missed out on — best days of your life.”
Michael Ritson was evidently excited about the prospect of returning to one of his favourite clubs.
He said: “Looking forward to going to Cats Whiskers.”
Nic Barnes said: “Yes I can’t wait to party like it’s 2019.”
Andy Sabin-Hope said: “Not at my age, but I think the younger people need this.”
David Walker said: “Maybe if I was about 35 years younger than I am, but not at my age.”
