WE shared a picture of the Vulcan bomber at Carlisle airport, which was taken by Craig Slater.

Joan Bowman said: "Gosh is the Vulcan still based at Carlisle Airport," while Dougie Kerr replied and said: "It is Joan and available to sit in when the Solway Aviation Museum is open."

Sally Ptn said: "That was a noisy thing in its day. Used to scare the life out of me when it flew over. Between the Vulcan and the Blue Streak Rocket Engines it was quite noisy round here."
