Here's what readers thought.

Jim Smith said: "When we lived Huddersfield way and I was a ‘biker’ used to love the ride out up to Holmfirth, up over Holmmoss, down to Derbyshire, Snake Pass, a shandy in the pub by Ladybower Dam, up through the Strines, up to Pennistone and back home. Great trip out in my opinion."

Rosie Walters Weir said: "It’s beautiful but dangerous for people who don’t drive sensibly. Too many accidents every year and it’s really hard for emergency services to get there."

Sue Evans said: "I love the Lakes but don't go there any more as it is too busy with people that don't really appreciate the beauty and danger."

Paul H Pluckrose added: "Driven it many times, in my car and the work's van. Along with all the other Lake District passes."
