Carlisle United have extended midfielder Jack Egan's deal to the end of the season.
But Jordan Holt is being released by the Blues next month.
Both young midfielders had been on half-season deals.
Now 20-year-old Egan, who has made one first-team appearance and has been on the bench at other times this season, will remain until the end of 2018/19.
The pair had been handed one-year professional "development" contracts for 2017/18 after coming through the club's youth ranks.
Holt, 19, has been on loan at Workington Reds this season.
