Workington Reds boss Danny Grainger has no injury concerns ahead of today’s big home game with Marske in the NPL North West Division.
Speaking ahead of the game, Grainger said he was “confident” of getting a result, especially with his side’s “amazing” record at Borough Park.
“We’re confident in any game we go into, but obviously our record at home has been amazing this season,” he said.
“Credit to the players, they’ve really taken games to teams, and we need to that against a very good Marske team.”
There is likely to be a big crowd today, and Grainger praised their “twelfth man” at home games.
“When the fans get behind the boys they [the players] can really push on, and it’s vitally important that they [the fans] keep doing so.
“They’re backing us in their numbers. They’re coming down week in, week out and it only breeds for more success at the club.”
The visitors are currently eight points adrift of Workington, but with four games in hand, could potentially overhaul the Reds.
But Grainger is sure there will be many twists and turns in the title race yet, and acknowledged, despite having played more games, he prefers to already have the points in his pocket.
He said: “There’s a lot of football to be played between now an the end of the season and personally, it’s always nice to have the points on the board.”
