Workington Town have told their players to work on individual programmes to keep fit and stay sharp following the decision to put the rugby league season on hold until next month at the earliest.
With Derwent Park and the club shop closed, players have not met up with head coach Chris Thorman and his staff for training this week following the Rugby Football League's announcement that fixtures at all levels of the game are postponed, initially until April 3.
Instead they have been asked to keep up themselves in shape on their own while the club awaits news on if and when the season will resume, with the coronavirus outbreak still developing.
A club statement said: "As a club we are following Government and RFL guidelines and avoiding non-essential contact, so we're not training this week but we are relying on players to follow their own programmes to keep fit during the postponement.
"The stadium and club shop is closed for the time being.
"We are in continuous dialogue with the RFL and will make every effort to keep our supporters and sponsors updated as the situation develops.
"The comms output from the club will obviously be less than you are used to but please bear with us as we work with fellow clubs and the RFL during what are unprecedented circumstances.
"Be safe and please look after each other."
The club has appealed for supporters who are able to do so to continue buying merchandise through the website to provide valuable income which will help while there are no matchdays to boost the club's coffers.
