Former Carlisle United favourite Derek Asamoah has spoken of his pride at playing in the same team as his son.
Ex-Blues frontman Asamoah, 39, joined teenage son Maleace on the pitch for Cheshunt FC in their 3-0 FA Trophy victory at Lowestoft last week.
It was a rare occurrence of a father and son being on the pitch at the same time.
And Asamoah senior later expressed his joy at having been team-mates with his boy.
Writing on Instagram, where he posted a picture of the duo, the veteran player said: "#fatherandson making history 🔥🔥 What an amazing feeling.
"I've trained and watched you grow as a footballer...never in my wildest dream did I think we would be teammates and making history🔥🔥🔥joining an elite group.
"Well done on your debut #onwardsandupwards."
Asamoah, who made 90 appearances for Carlisle from 2014-17, his 14 goals memorably including the equaliser at Anfield in United's 1-1 League Cup draw against Liverpool in 2015.
The Ghana-born player is still going strong in the non-league game, having played for Haringey Borough before joining Isthmian League Premier Division side Cheshunt this year.
