Former Carlisle United frontman Charlie Wyke has joined Wigan Athletic after leaving Sunderland.
The Latics have confirmed the capture of the 28-year-old on a three-year deal.
It comes a day after Wyke confirmed he was moving on from the Stadium of Light.
Wigan emerged as major contenders for his signature and are understood to have offered the former Blues man a bumper deal.
The club, who narrowly avoided relegation from League One last season, are under new owners, Bahraini-funded Phoenix 2021 Limited.
The ex-Blues striker today told the Wigan website: "I’m delighted. I’ve been speaking to the club for a few weeks and from the day I met the manager, I knew this was the club I wanted to play for.
"The way he [boss Leam Richardson] sold the club to me, and how he said he could get the best out of me, I thought this was the best place for my career going forward.
"The club ticks all the boxes in terms of how they want to play, the stadium and the fans. I can’t wait to get started now and hopefully it’s a long, successful spell for me."
Wyke's move to the DW Stadium comes after a summer when he had also been linked with Celtic.
The striker hit 31 goals in all competitions last season for Sunderland, who lost out in the League One play-off semi-finals to Lincoln.
The 28-year-old's contract expired recently and he yesterday used Instagram to reveal that he was leaving the north east club.
The former Cumbrians goalscorer posted on his social media account: "Thank you to the @sunderlandafcofficial fans who supported me from day one & good luck for the future.”
Sunderland boss Lee Johnson recently said it was likely Wyke would leave after his contract expired.
The ex-Middlesbrough frontman scored 39 goals in 89 appearances for the Cumbrians after joining in 2015.
He was then sold to Bradford for £250,000 in January 2017 after the Bantams triggered a clause in his contract, the frontman moving to Sunderland in summer 2018.
