Sam Fishburn kept up his impressive goalscoring tally for Lancaster City today.
The young Carlisle United loan striker fired his seventh goal in just five appearances for the Dolly Blues.
The 17-year-old Fishburn was on target in the Northern Premier League Premier Division game against Atherton Collieries.
The Blues prospect opened the scoring with a powerful finish shortly before half-time.
It was not enough to prevent Lancaster going down to a 3-1 defeat as the hosts fought back in the second half.
But Fishburn's eyecatching impact on loan continues after he linked up with the Giant Axe club on a youth loan deal until January.
Blues boss Chris Beech recently commented on how pleased he was to see Fishburn getting valuable experience in a first-team environment.
He said: “Looking at the quick progress he’s made, following on from the pre-season games he played for us, you could argue that he could perhaps have gone to a slightly higher level.
“But until you go and do something, you don’t know.
“He’ll gain great confidence from it, and when he comes back, hopefully I’ll see a slight difference in him, because our standards are high and he knows he has to meet higher ones to make sure he plays for Carlisle United.”
Fishburn had scored twice on his Lancaster debut against Witton Albion before a hat-trick against Grantham Town and a further strike against Stalybridge Celtic.
