Carlisle United loanee Taylor Charters returned to the Gateshead side last night - and helped the National League North leaders to another victory.
The west Cumbrian midfielder was recalled by boss Mike Williamson after spending recent games on the bench.
And Charters, who recently extended his loan deal with the north-east side for the rest of the season, played the full game as Heed overcame Farsley Celtic 3-1.
All three goals for the home side were scored by former Blues players with Cedwyn Scott getting two and Adam Campbell the other.
Gateshead are now six points clear at the top of their division.
For 20-year-old Charters it was an eighth appearance for the club.
His loan extension was sanctioned by the Cumbrians on Saturday. Gateshead player-boss Williamson has praised the Maryport prospect's "character and work ethic".
Charters was a late sub in Gateshead's previous outing against Spennymoor.
Also last night, Carlisle striker Manasse Mampala was an unused substitute for Weymouth in their 2-2 National League draw with a Bromley side that included ex-Blues centre-half Byron Webster.
Tristan Abrahams was a 70th-minute sub for Grimsby Town in their 3-1 win over Aldershot on Saturday. The United frontman is yet to score in six Mariners appearances.
A decision is also pending on the future of another United loan player, with Josh Dixon's initial month at Workington Reds almost up.
