Carlisle United loan man Tristan Abrahams was praised for the "fantastic finish" that opened his account for Grimsby Town.
Striker Abrahams claimed the first goal of his National League loan spell in the Mariners' 3-1 win at Dover Athletic.
Abrahams got on the scoresheet in his seventh appearance since joining Paul Hurst's Mariners until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old's strike in the 36th minute helped Grimsby stay in the play-off hunt in ninth place.
Manager Hurst said of the Blues player: "I thought he did alright. He certainly took his gol really well.
"It was a perfect ball from Luke [Waterfall] and a fantastic finish.
"It surprised us a little only because it was on his right side. In training he always wants to get on his left foot.
"But it was great awareness and execution and hopefully that will help him."
Also in the National League, Manasse Mampala was a 73rd-minute substitute for Weymouth in their 1-0 defeat at leaders Stockport County. The Carlisle striker has made four outings for the Terras and is awaiting his first goal.
Gateshead's 1-1 draw at AFC Telford United in National League North saw Blues loan midfielder Taylor Charters come off the bench in the 65th minute.
The west Cumbrian replaced Matty Jacob for the league leaders.
Workington Reds' 1-0 home defeat to Widnes in NPL West saw Josh Dixon an unused substitute.
